Member Spotlight - Gary King, Managing Director for Tendo


Gary King from Tendo takes this month's member spotlight to tell us more about the business and why he has chosen to become a member of Cognitiv.

Sum up your business in just a couple of sentences?  

We love working with local business leaders to help them succeed in business and improve their work/ life balance and personal drawings.  We have a unique single page business plan that is dynamic, agile and uses accountability to deliver strategy which enables the business leader to fulfil their purpose.

Can you provide details of your core services, including any client/sector examples?  

We work with ambitious SMEs to develop high growth strategies and support them as a mentor to deliver their plans, develop personally and remain accountable for success.  We have worked with service, manufacturing and charity clients from start-up to £10M turnover offering anything from soil recycling to print to painting.

What excites you about your business and the work that you do?

The people and the challenge of constant innovation.

We get to work with ambitious business owners, seeing huge change and helping them to tackle their growth issues every day. Each and every client and sector bring new learning and huge opportunity.

Tell us about a recent project?  

We worked with a market leading global manufacturing business in 2015, doubling turnover to £4.5M and quadrupling profitability.

What one piece of work are you most proud of and why?  

The launch of Food4Thought in 2014, a peer mentoring group discussing business challenges over dinner.  We now work with over 50 leaders every month across three cities and have plans to extend further for 2017.

Why have you chosen to become a member of Cognitiv?

I am keen to collaborate with this key growth sector so I can learn and build strong collaborative relationships.

What are the biggest issues faced by the CDIT sector?

Attracting high quality talent and keeping abreast of trends and innovation to service clients.
