Cognitiv member Mooncas organise high quality, useful and relevant sector specific conferences across Yorkshire. They are entering their second year of trading and the ambitious organisation have two exciting vacancies available. 

Conference Development Manager

Mooncas are looking for somebody to join the team in the New Year to help drive forward their growth plan. 

The role is sales oriented and involves building new Mooncas conferences into quality, recognised and reputable brands. 

The right person for this role will be highly organised with a keen attention to detail and an extremely good listener. Building a conference from scratch takes initiative, self development, tenacity, determination, good planning, gentle assertiveness, enthusiasm, confidence, excellent negotiation skills, patience, calm and the ability to manage multiple partnerships. 

Each conference is a mini business in its own right and every aspect needs to be fed and nurtured. 

The main aspect is the revenue so event management skills on their own will not be sufficient for this role.

Identifying and attending relevant events is another essential part so the role is a mixture of office and field based - own transport is absolutely essential.  

This is a full time role - the hours can be varied and there may be the occasional overnight stay required when attending events outside Yorkshire.

Basic salary starts at £15k - £18k dependant on experience. OTE £30k to £35k - there is no cap on commission.

 

Event Planner

Mooncas are looking for someone to join the team in the New Year to take care of organising their conferences. 

The right person for this role will be highly organised with a keen attention to detail and an extremely good listener.  Being able to use own initiative is an absolute must. 

Planning a conference takes tenacity, determination, good planning, enthusiasm, confidence, patience, reliability, calm, great communication skills, ambition and the ability to manage multiple groups of people such as exhibitors, partners, sponsors, speakers.  

You will be a real team player and be able to step up to the plate under pressure.

The role is full time and is primarily office based but there will be travel involved so own transport is absolutely essential.

Basic salary starts at £12k - £16k dependant on experience.

The Role in Brief:

  • Event planning and logistics - ensuring all information is obtained within the timescales required
  • Delegate welcome calls
  • Research news pieces on the conference/exhibitors/sponsors/speakers/partners and communicate out to the relevant stakeholders
  • Management of social media accounts
  • Update website
  • Managing google alerts
  • Admin/telephone support where necessary (not sales)
