Marketing Internship Opportunity with Wakefield Lit Fest
Wakefield Lit Fest is an emergent festival celebrating reading and writing, established and programmed by Beam since 2012. It runs annually in late September and aims to achieve a balance between quality and participation; learning opportunities and a diverse definition of ‘literature’. The festival has a particular interest in the relationship between the written and performed word and the places we live in, walk through and imagine and in working across artforms.
Wakefield Lit Fest 2015 takes place 18-27 September at a range of venues and public spaces across the city and district.
We have a voluntary position available for a marketing internship during August that will provide a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a dynamic arts festival, now in its fourth year.
You’ll be able to take part in behind the scenes planning activity within a small team that enable these diverse poetry, spoken word and community events to be so successful.
An intern is an invaluable part of the festival and you will have the opportunity to experience a variety of tasks including writing and uploading web content, planning and scheduling social media activity, data entry, marketing, PR and general administration tasks.
Every year, the festival creates an amazing buzz around the city and this is your chance to be part of it.
Please submit your CV and a short introductory email stating why you are suitable for the role and your availability to:
T: 01924 215550
Please note this is an unpaid volunteer opportunity and will be 15-20 days in total.
Reasonable travel and other expenses can be met subject to prior agreement.
Closing date for expressions of interest: 29 July 2015
Informal interviews will take place on 31 July 2015
The internship will commence on 3 August and continue throughout the festival until 27 September and will be based at Beam’s office in central Wakefield at The Orangery, Back Lane, Wakefield, WF1 2TG.
