Cognitiv launch attracts a full house
Cognitiv, the new industry group established to place the spotlight firmly on Wakefield’s creative, digital and IT sector, attracted a full house at the groups official launch event on Wednesday 2nd April.
Taking place at The Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield and attracting an audience of over 120 people, the event was attended by business owners, freelancers and students involved in and working with the creative, digital and IT sectors from across the district.
The evening, officially opened by Cognitiv Chair and Founding Member Dan Conboy, included speeches from Founding Member Graham Howarth and special guest speaker Claire Harper, from award winning retailer IndiaCoco.
Taking to the stage Claire gave the audience an insight into the world of online retail and marketing, whilst at the same time sharing her experiences and knowledge of how to run a successful Wakefield based business.
Dan comments: “The launch event was a huge success, we would like to thank everyone who took the time to come along and find out what Cognitiv is all about.
“Our goal now is to increase membership numbers, which in turn will help us to develop our infrastructure including our online members area and attract world class speakers to take part in future events.”
He adds: “Wakefield has a vibrant creative, digital and IT sector; through Cognitiv we want to promote this, create stronger opportunities for working in partnership whilst also representing our members in relation to industry wide issues.”
With the aim of becoming the voice of the sector, Cognitiv will bring people together to share ideas, develop partnerships and build better business opportunities. Cognitiv will also promote the best of Wakefield’s creative, digital and IT talent to the wider community.
