Entrepreneur Inspires With Tale of Rags To Riches
Friday 04th December, 2015
9am - 11am
Hatfeild Hall, Wakefield
First Friday, the district-wide networking event hosted by the Wakefield First Bondholder Scheme, will inspire the district’s business community with a journey of rags to riches on 4th December, when they are joined by local entrepreneur Graham Thompson.
As the Managing Director of Xamax, a family business that specialises in supplying branded clothing, Graham will show how passion, innovation and positivity has helped him to turn a workshop in his friend’s back bedroom into a multi-million pound business.
Understanding the many challenges that local businesses face, Graham will demonstrate how his approach to lead and not follow the market has resulted in new opportunities, business growth and successful funding bids.
Tim Howe, Events Co-ordinator for Wakefield Bondholders comments: “We’re really pleased to welcome Graham to First Friday, our theme is innovation, motivation and vision which are all at the heart of Graham’s own enterprise journey.”
“He is a great ambassador for our district and there is no doubt that his fantastic Yorkshire sense of humour, and no nonsense approach will raise a few smiles amongst our audience. But it’s not just about humour and inspiration, businesses will hear from a local entrepreneur who understands and has tackled the many challenges that we face.”
Graham will be joined by a representative of Leeds Beckett University who will highlight the benefits of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships which in the last 15 years have generated an additional £2bn to the UK’s GVA.
Used as a vehicle to promote and support growth within the district, First Friday will also offer an economic insight and facilitate networking between like-minded business people.
First Friday will take place on Friday 4th December, from 9:00am to 11:00am at Hatfeild Hall in Wakefield. Tickets cost just £10. Book your space.
